Clash with Hütter: Krösche facing exit at Eintracht Frankfurt?

At Eintracht Frankfurt, a report about the future of sporting director Markus Krösche caused a stir just before the start of the Bundesliga season.

As reported by "Bild", the 45-year-old could be facing an exit as early as September. At the heart of the disagreements is reportedly none other than the new, yet old, coach of the Hessen club: Adi Hütter.

Hütter and Krösche Disagree on Squad Planning

The Austrian has been Eintracht's coach again since this summer, having previously managed the club from 2018 to 2021. There are reportedly differing views between Hütter and Krösche regarding squad planning.

While Hütter is said to be focusing on experienced players who can immediately help the team, Krösche is reportedly still looking at young talents with development potential and possible resale value.

Krösche joined Eintracht in the summer of 2021 – immediately after Hütter's first departure – and has since established himself primarily as a strong transfer manager. With players like Randal Kolo Muani, Hugo Ekitiké, and Omar Marmoush, Frankfurt was able to generate enormous transfer fees. Recently, however, there have also been some missteps.

President Rejects Speculations

According to "Bild", Krösche's relationship with the club's committees is also reportedly strained. The sporting director still has a contract in Frankfurt until 2028, yet an early separation is said to be discussed after the end of the transfer window.

However, Eintracht President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mathias Beck, contradicts the speculations. Speaking to the "Wiesbadener Kurier", he emphasized that Wednesday's scheduled supervisory board meeting is "a long-planned regular meeting." He does not want to comment publicly on reports concerning Krösche.

At the same time, Beck clarifies: Krösche has an ongoing contract, clearly committed to Eintracht just two months ago, and is with his team in the final stretch of the transfer window. "Therefore, there is no reason to speculate about Markus Krösche's future," said the SGE president.
