RB Leipzig Talent Injured: To Miss Extended Period

Assan Ouedraogo sustained a severe shoulder injury during RB Leipzig's 5-0 victory over HSV.
The midfield colleague of Nicolas Seiwald and the also injured Christoph Baumgartner had to be substituted after 35 minutes against Hamburg. He suffered a capsule injury during a tackle.
The 20-year-old will now undergo shoulder surgery and will be out for an extended period for the Saxons. Leipzig coach Martin Demichelis was proven right with his initial diagnosis after the game: "I do believe it's the same injury." Ouedraogo had already been sidelined during pre-season due to a capsule injury.
Long Spell on the Sidelines for Young DFB Hopeful
Despite his young age, Ouedraogo has already missed 88 games due to injury since his debut for Schalke 04 in 2022, and has only played 44 competitive matches.
Thus, he is also not an option for the new DFB coach Jürgen Klopp, who will announce his first squad for the Nations League matches in the coming days.
Ouedraogo moved from Schalke to Leipzig in summer 2024 for ten million euros. For the "Bullen", he has so far scored four goals and provided four assists in 27 games.
