With their first win in the Bundesliga since promotion, FC Schalke 04 has now definitively arrived back in the top flight.

Miron Muslic is considered the architect of this success. The Austrian with Bosnian roots took over the club as a second-division team threatened by relegation and led them to promotion. With his charismatic style, he has won the hearts of Schalke fans by storm. He himself also seems to feel extremely comfortable at the traditional German club, as he has repeatedly emphasized.

What comes after Schalke? - "A nice long break"

On Saturday evening, the 44-year-old was a guest on "ZDF" Sportstudio to talk about his career path and his future vision with FC Schalke 04.

He was also confronted with a question he hadn't expected. It was about what would come after Schalke. But Muslic also had the perfect answer ready: "I'm hoping for a nice long break. Because I intend to stay at Schalke for a very long time." His statement was met with thunderous applause from the audience.

Dream of becoming Bosnian national team coach

However, one dream is still "very high" on Muslic's list, as he himself emphasizes: coaching the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"You are allowed to dream, and then you try to wake up every day and set out to realize your dreams. I am now coach of Schalke 04, a coach in the German Bundesliga. These weren't pipe dreams a few years ago; it was impossible, almost unimaginable. But there are always ways. I was born in Bosnia, I am a proud Bosnian, my whole family is still in my Bosnian homeland. I feel strongly rooted. One day, I can perfectly imagine doing that," the 44-year-old explained to "ZDF."
