Player raves: "Adi Hütter gives me confidence"

Adi Hütter can celebrate his first Bundesliga victory with Eintracht Frankfurt since his return.

On the third matchday, SGE prevailed 3-1 against Mainz 05, celebrating their first three points of the young season (to the match report >>>).

For Hütter, the success is special: The Austrian was already on the sidelines for Eintracht between 2018 and 2021, before returning to Frankfurt this summer.

"Important Victory for Eintracht"

After the opening draw at Union Berlin and the 1-4 home defeat against Augsburg, the pressure was already palpable for the Hessians. "There was a bit of pressure in the pot," confirms sporting director Markus Krösche.

All the more important was the performance in Mainz for Hütter. "I saw a team that gave everything from the first to the last minute and won deservedly," says the 56-year-old.

Above all, the defensive stability was right this time. "We made fewer mistakes, defended better and played a bit deeper than recently. That helps to stabilize a team," explains Krösche.

Hütter also emphasizes the importance of the success: "It's an important victory for Eintracht, that does us all good, the team and the fans."

Uzun Thanks Hütter for Confidence

The man of the match is Can Uzun. The 20-year-old scored a brace and thus played a decisive role in the first win of the season.

He is particularly pleased about the trust of his coach. "Adi Hütter definitely gives me confidence, we talked again during the week, and I hope I can repay that trust," says Uzun.

Jonathan Burkardt, who scored to make it 2-0 in the interim, also sees a clear improvement compared to the first appearances of the season. "For 90 minutes, that was the Eintracht we've only partially seen in recent games," says the striker.

For Hütter and Eintracht, the first step out of the false start has been made. With four points, Frankfurt ranks eighth after three matchdays. Next Saturday, league leaders SC Freiburg await as the next challenge (3:30 PM in the LIVE ticker).
