The rumor mill is already buzzing about who could take over. One name that has been thrown into the ring is Didi Kühbauer.
The LASK head coach is being discussed as a possible candidate on "ntv". Horst Steffen (most recently Werder Bremen) and Christian Eichner (most recently Karlsruher SC) are also mentioned in the same breath as possible successors.
Additionally, the names of Ole Werner (most recently RB Leipzig) and Alexander Blessin (most recently FC St. Pauli) are circulating in connection with the vacant coaching position in Mönchengladbach.
Kühbauer has only just extended his contract
In the past, Kühbauer made no secret of the fact that a coaching position abroad appealed to him - however, the 55-year-old only extended his contract as LASK head coach in August until 2029.
Kühbauer's contract extension was also an important contributing factor, for example, why Sasa Kalajdzic returned to Linz. Last week, he coached for the first time in the Champions League; against AEK Athens, the Austrian double winner suffered a 0-1 defeat.
