Will Hütter get a new Sporting Director from the 2. Bundesliga?
Markus Krösche's tenure is now likely to end sooner than expected. In search of a successor, Eintracht Frankfurt is reportedly looking towards Nuremberg.
Just a few weeks after Adi Hütter took on his role as head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt, rumors circulated about a strained relationship with Sporting Director Markus Krösche.
The manager is also reportedly no longer enjoying full backing within the leadership. According to "Sport Bild", Krösche will not fulfill his contract with the Hessen club, which runs until 2028.
Although the exact timing of when the no longer undisputed successful manager will vacate his position is not yet clear, Eintracht Frankfurt is reportedly already looking into potential successor candidates.
Hellmann Poised for Promotion
The tabloid names Joti Chatzialexiou as a possible candidate. The long-serving DFB official is currently working as Sporting Director for 1. FC Nürnberg in the 2. Bundesliga. He worked at Eintracht Frankfurt between 2001 and 2009 as a youth coach.
It further states that Axel Hellmann, the spokesperson for the board, is set to be promoted to CEO after Krösche's departure. Krösche himself was recently linked with AC Milan and Liverpool, but a move did not materialize in the summer.
The current timetable indicates that Krösche will still be responsible for the upcoming winter transfer window before his successor determines the personnel policy for the summer. Krösche managed to prevent a swift dismissal with a strong finish in the summer transfer window.
