Million-Euro Release Clause: Must Schalke Fear Losing Muslic?
Schalke's successful Austrian coach is allowed to leave the club under certain conditions. The Royal Blues likely feel compelled to act.
FC Schalke 04 continues to aim for a long-term collaboration with Miron Muslic.
The Bosnia-born Tyrolean has become a successful coach for the Royal Blues since at least the Bundesliga promotion in 2025/26.
Regarding potential farewell rumors, the 44-year-old recently made his position clear, yet there are reportedly current concerns at Schalke about the future of the Austrian coach. Muslic's contract is said to contain sensitive details.
Release Clause Causes Schalke Concern
According to "Sport Bild", Muslic's contract, which runs until summer 2028, is said to contain a release clause.
As early as next summer, this clause is reportedly set to allow several clubs to sign Muslic for a transfer fee of between five and eight million euros.
Schalke therefore absolutely wants to remove this option from the contract. A new contract could run until 2029 or even 2030.
Muslic recently stated that his future wish is to coach the Bosnian national team one day.
