Eintracht Frankfurt already has a successor in its sights for Sporting Director Markus Krösche, who was released on Sunday.

As "Sky" reporter Florian Plettenberg reported on Monday, former Swiss international Christoph Spycher is considered the preferred candidate for the Bundesliga club.

The 48-year-old is currently still serving as Board Member for Sport in his home country with BSC Young Boys.

Talks already underway

According to Plettenberg, Spycher, who ended his playing career in 2014 as a 47-time international, is generally open to a move to the Hessians, and initial talks between the parties are already underway. He reportedly does not have a release clause.

Spycher also has a past with Frankfurt: As a left-back, he played 149 times for Eintracht between 2005 and 2010.

After his playing career, he first served as Sporting Director at Young Boys and since 2022 as Board Member for Sport. He has been with the club since the end of his career and enjoys an excellent reputation beyond national borders.
