Lienhart's Freiburg lose league lead in Leverkusen

SC Freiburg suffer their first defeat of the season on the sixth matchday of the German Bundesliga.

The team of Austrian international Philipp Lienhart narrowly loses 1-2 to Bayer Leverkusen.

Freiburg initially get off to the better start. Rising star Derry Scherhant gives the visitors a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute.

However, Leverkusen's response isn't long in coming. Just five minutes later, Maza levels the score (19').

Maza again directly involved in go-ahead goal

In the 76th minute, Bayer finally turn the game around. After an assist from Maza, Patrik Schick scores the 2-1 final goal.

Freiburg consequently drop to third in the table, one point behind Bayern and Dortmund. Leverkusen are fourth, level on points.
