The former sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt, Markus Krösche, left the Hütter club on Sunday at his own request. After five years in Frankfurt, the 46-year-old is now reportedly on the radar of traditional Italian club AC Milan.

According to the Italian newspaper "Gazzetta dello Sport," Krösche is the top candidate for the sporting director position at the Rossoneri.

Rangnick was also a candidate

The management in Milan has been looking for a person responsible for sports affairs since spring.

ÖFB national team coach Ralf Rangnick was also considered a candidate at the time. However, the German decided to remain in Austria.

However, following Krösche's sudden availability, AC Milan could soon have a new "Head of Football." Talks could take place in the coming days.

According to local media, the Italians' interest is not related to Krösche's departure from Frankfurt.
