Even after the 0-6 thrashing against RB Leipzig on the last Bundesliga matchday, Adi Hütter is sticking with captain Robin Koch.

The head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt announced this on Wednesday during a press conference before the league clash with 1. FC Köln (Friday, from 8:30 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).

Hütter after 0-6 debacle: "We have to be ashamed of ourselves" >>>

"He will play Friday's game and remain captain, there's absolutely no discussion for me."

Clarity After Halftime 'Relief'

However, the 56-year-old Austrian is still demanding an improvement compared to the season so far, and especially the last game: "I expect a corresponding performance from my key players. Robin knows that too, we've talked about it often."

The center-back had a dreadful day against the "Red Bulls". With the score at 0-4 at halftime, the Vorarlberg native "relieved" the DFB player, substituting Koch after the first half.

A conscious decision, as Hütter re-emphasizes: "In my opinion, he took it very well. Of course, I could have substituted everyone else as well, because we simply didn't play a good game."

Wrong System? Hütter Responds

With five points from five games, SGE is currently only in 14th place in the table.

Recently there has been criticism of Hütter's system, who has frequently played with a back three. According to the former Monaco coach, the recent setbacks were not caused by this.

"We made individual errors, that had nothing to do with a back three or a back four," Hütter explained. Instead, his team simply acted too negligently in their defensive behavior.

"Back three, back four, I don't know if that has such an extremely high influence on the way you ultimately play."
