Following criticism: Coach defends Wirtz ahead of LASK game

Ahead of the Champions League clash between LASK and Liverpool (at 6:45 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>), coach Andoni Iraola defends Florian Wirtz, who has recently faced heavy criticism.

Among others, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher sharply criticised the German international (Read more here >>>).

When asked about the criticism, Iraola stood behind Wirtz ahead of the game against LASK: "He has shown good performances for the national team. He scored a goal. Here, too, he will have better games sometimes and worse games at other times."

For the coach, the entire team is the priority: "I would rather look at it from the team's perspective and focus on how we can play well and achieve results. It's more of a team matter."
