Bayern gem reveals: Why he rejected Manchester City
German international Aleksandar Pavlovic received an inquiry from Manchester City in the summer. However, the 22-year-old immediately rejected it.
Aleksandar Pavlovic confirmed an inquiry from Manchester City in early September 2026. However, the German international is said to have immediately rejected it, so an official offer from the "Citizens" never materialised.
"First of all, it's an honour when a top club like City approaches you," Pavlovic emphasised to "Sport Bild".
Decision for his boyhood club
The decision to stay at FC Bayern was apparently an easy one for the 22-year-old. Pavlovic grew up in Munich and has played his way into the starting XI of the German record champions.
"My family and friends live here; there's nothing more beautiful for me. That's why the decision wasn't difficult for me," the German explained his choice.
Mega-offer was on the table
According to reports, Manchester City was even prepared to pay 100 million Euros for the 22-year-old.
Pavlovic was earmarked as a potential successor to Rodri, who left a gap in City's midfield with his departure to Barcelona.
