Leipzig Gives Green Light: Real Madrid Seals Record Package for Diomande!
The winger could become the most expensive transfer in the history of Real Madrid.
The transfer of Yan Diomande to Real Madrid is now indeed expected to go through.
As "Sky" reports, an agreement has been reached between RB Leipzig and "Los Blancos".
According to the report, Real Madrid is prepared to pay a base fee of 125 million Euros to Leipzig.
With add-ons, the sum could increase to 140 million Euros – with 10 million Euros of these bonus payments considered easily achievable.
Leipzig and Africa Set New Records
With this transfer, Yan Diomande will break several transfer records. Not only will he become the most expensive player sale in the history of RB Leipzig, but also the most expensive African of all time.
If the bonus payments are triggered, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international will become the fifth most expensive transfer in football history.
Diomande Will Also Smash Real's Transfer Record
Furthermore, Diomande will most likely become Real Madrid's record transfer. Only for Jude Bellingham (2023/127 million Euros fee) did "Los Blancos" spend more money.
Just a year ago, Leipzig paid 20 million Euros to CD Leganes to sign Diomande. The Ivorian impressed in his debut season for the "Red Bulls" with 13 goals and ten assists in 36 appearances.
Already during the World Cup, Diomande put pressure on Leipzig by stating that he was firmly expecting a transfer this summer.
