Miron Muslic and Schalke 04 are stuck in a crisis.

The Royal Blues lose 0-2 to RB Leipzig on the eighth matchday of the German Bundesliga. It's their sixth consecutive winless competitive match and another setback after their bitter cup exit midweek against Dynamo Dresden.

Penalty Swings the Match

As early as the 3rd minute, it was supposedly 0-1. But Becker's own goal doesn't count, as Orban was offside in the build-up (3'). Shortly after, Adamu misses the opening goal alone in front of Vandevoort (10'), and Aouchiche also hits the crossbar (13').

A few minutes before halftime, Leipzig is awarded a penalty after a foul by Tanaka on Romulo, which Nusa confidently converts (37'/pen).

With the last action of the first half, Leipzig makes it 2-0, but before Romulo's goal, the ball was already out of play (45+4').

Romulo Seals the Deal

After the break, the equalizer almost falls, but Romulo clears the ball before Adamu can shoot (49'). At the other end, Karius saves against Banzuzi (53').

Leipzig grows stronger and stronger and is rewarded after the final quarter of an hour begins. Romulo places the ball into the far corner after a pass from Nusa (78'). That settles the game, as the Red Bulls celebrate their third consecutive competitive victory.

Christoph Baumgartner enters the field from the 61st minute, while Nicolas Seiwald remains on the bench for the entire match. For Schalke, Adamu is replaced by Dejan Ljubicic in the 57th minute.

RB Leipzig jumps to fourth place in the table with 15 points, while Schalke slips to 16th place with six points.

Bremen Continues Strong Season Start Against Ilzer's TSG

In parallel, Werder Bremen prevails 2-0 against Christian Ilzer's TSG Hoffenheim.

Werder, with Marco Friedl and Marco Grüll in the starting XI, takes the lead in the 57th minute through top scorer Füllkrug. Shortly after, Friedl is shown a yellow card (60'), and in the closing stages, Dinkci, assisted by Grüll, seals the preliminary decision (82').

Bremen takes fifth place with 15 points, while TSG's upward trend in the Bundesliga is halted. Hoffenheim, which had to manage without the suspended Alexander Prass and the injured Patrick Wimmer in this match, is in eleventh place (9 pts.).
