SV Elversberg bounces back with a successful performance!

The promoted side, with Nicolas Kristof playing the full ninety minutes in goal, celebrates a clear 4-1 home victory over FSV Mainz 05 in the 8th round of the German Bundesliga. For Elversberg, it's the right response after clear defeats in Leipzig and at home against Darmstadt in the cup.

For Mainz, Austrian internationals Stefan Posch and Philipp Mwene are in the starting lineup. While Mwene, already on a yellow card, has to come off in the 63rd minute, Posch is sent off with a second yellow in stoppage time (90.+5).

Efficiency

In a game with few chances, it is the hosts who are able to capitalize through efficiency. Felix Keidel (7th minute) and Francis Onyeka (26th minute) put the promoted side on the winning track early.

Shortly before the half-time whistle, Bayern loanee Maurice Krattenmacher sealed the deal (45.+1).

Posch Sent Off

In another evenly matched second half, it was the hosts who scored again: Cole Campbell extended the lead in stoppage time (90.+1).

Benedikt Hollerbach only managed a consolation goal (90.+3), before Posch was sent off with a second yellow card after a foul in the final minute (90.+5).

Elversberg consequently moves back up to fifth place in the table, while Mainz sits eighth.
