Hertha BSC remains the team to beat in the German 2. Bundesliga!

The capital club deservedly secured a 3-0 away victory against fourth-placed Kaiserslautern in the 10th round.

The two ÖFB (Austrian Football Federation) legionnaires Oluwaseun Adewumi (Hertha) and Thierry Fidjeu-Tazemeta (Kaiserslautern) started for their clubs but were substituted after 76 and 58 minutes respectively.

Adewumi seals the deal

Man of the match was Sebastian Grönning with a brace (17th/52nd). Adewumi himself got to celebrate after an hour. The attacker scored with a header from close range to make it 3-0 (59th). It was the 21-year-old's fourth goal of the season.

With their ninth win in ten games, Hertha remains unbeaten this season and consolidates their league lead. Kaiserslautern is fourth.

Wolfsburg jumps to second place

Bundesliga relegated side VfL Wolfsburg is, at least overnight, the new closest pursuer of Hertha after a 2-0 home win over VfL Osnabrück. The "Wolves" leapfrog Nürnberg but are still nine points behind.

For Wolfsburg, former Hertha player Fabian Reese was the match-winner with a goal (30th) and an assist. Muhammed Damar scored the second goal shortly after the half-time break (49th).

There was no winner in the clash between Darmstadt 98 and FC Magdeburg. The two clubs drew 1-1. The goals were scored by Milan Smit (37th) and Tobias Müller (14th) respectively.
