Hütter's Club Finds Krösche's Successor
The German Bundesliga club has reportedly found a new sporting director. He is said to be coming from the 2. Bundesliga.
Eintracht Frankfurt is reportedly set to present a new sporting director soon!
According to reports from "kicker" and "Sky," among others, Joti Chatzialexiou will succeed Markus Krösche at the Main. After lengthy discussions, all parties have now reached an agreement.
Move Only in February
The 50-year-old is expected to take up his position at Adi Hütter's club after the upcoming transfer window on February 1, 2027.
Chatzialexiou is currently still under contract with second-division side 1. FC Nürnberg, but reportedly has a release clause for Frankfurt, according to "kicker." The new sports boss is said to cost under 500,000 euros, and a contract until 2030 is now ready.
Klose Reacts
Nürnberg coach Miroslav Klose has also already commented on the rumors: "Of course, we are aware of the discussions. It's normal that there's a mood in the team," said the former Altach coach.
The club is expected to publish a statement later today, it is said.
Frankfurt Native
For Chatzialexiou, the move to Eintracht is also a return home, as the German-Greek was born in Frankfurt am Main. From 2001 to 2009, he was also active as a youth coach for the Frankfurt club.
After that, he worked in various capacities at the DFB before taking up his post in Nürnberg in May 2024.
