Since both FC Bayern and Dortmund are level on points at the top, the winner can gain a three-point lead over their rival.
The Munich team recently secured a dominant 6-1 victory in the Cup against Magdeburg. Dortmund only just scraped into the next Cup round with a last-second free-kick from Marcel Sabitzer to secure a 3-2 win against Werder Bremen.
Bayern Munich will likely still have to do without head coach Vincent Kompany on the sideline, who has since been discharged from hospital.
