In the home win against Arminia, Moritz Broschinski became the match-winner. The FC Basel loanee scored in the first match of the season, netting the opening goal in the 35th minute to make it 1-0. In the second half, he added another goal, completing his brace to make it 2-0 (78th minute).
Marvin Mehlem's goal in the 80th minute came too late for Arminia to force an equalizer. The score remained 2-1, marking a successful start on the dugout for Vienna-born Senft.
