Official: Arsenal sign Brazilian international
Arsenal FC have secured a new midfielder. The English champions are transferring around 87 million euros to a Premier League rival.
Arsenal FC have signed Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United.
The Brazilian international signs a long-term contract with the English champions until 2030, plus an option for a further season. England's champions made this official on Saturday.
After several previously failed attempts, the two Premier League clubs have now agreed on a transfer. According to media reports, Arsenal are paying around 87 million euros for the 28-year-old midfielder.
Guimarães, a 47-cap Brazilian international, moved from Olympique Lyon to Newcastle in early 2022 for just under 50 million euros, and the French club is expected to earn further income through a sell-on clause.
For Newcastle United, Guimarães played 152 Premier League games, scoring 30 goals.
