RB Leipzig to be without Germany international for weeks
The midfielder is out again. He sustained an injury in training.
RB Leipzig faces another setback in preparation for the 2026/27 season.
Following the failed transfer of Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani (More Info>>>), the "Red Bulls" will now have to do without a German international for several weeks.
As reported by the Bundesliga club on Saturday, midfield talent Assan Ouedraogo sustained a capsular injury in his right shoulder during a challenge in training at the training camp.
"After a thorough examination and weighing all findings, a conservative treatment was decided upon. As a result, RB Leipzig will have to do without the 20-year-old for a few weeks," the club announced in a press release.
Already Injured Last Season
Following the departure of ÖFB international Xaver Schlager, Ouedraogo was expected to take the vacant spot in midfield. For the German international, this renewed injury is another setback.
Last season, 2025/26, the DFB jewel already missed several months due to a knee injury, but still made it onto Germany's World Cup squad late after Lennart Karl's injury. However, the 20-year-old did not feature in the tournament.
