Hütter on Frankfurt Return: "I Missed the Fans"

Adi Hütter is back at German Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt since this season.

The Austrian had already coached the club between 2018 and 2021 and returned to the Hessians after his spells at Borussia Mönchengladbach and AS Monaco. That he is embarking on a second spell with the 'Eagles' is also due to the fans of the traditional club.

"In Frankfurt, you walk up the stands, and there are 60,000 enthusiastic fans. I had already missed that – and that's why I looked for it again," the 56-year-old told "kicker".

Differences between Frankfurt and his former club Monaco are clearly noticeable. "In Monaco, there is a running track around the pitch. When you come out of the changing room there, there are 7,000, 8,000 spectators gathered, and they are also far away," says Hütter.

"As if I had never left"

Upon his return to Frankfurt, he immediately felt a familiar feeling.

"I had the feeling as if I had never left and was coming home. Eintracht had already grown close to my heart back then," the 56-year-old said.

However, many Eintracht fans had resented his departure in 2021 for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Now Hütter is back – and wants to build on his successful first spell with the Hessians.
