In the 2023/24 season, TSG Hoffenheim loaned Muhammed Damar (22) to Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga.

The attacking midfielder only made four appearances in the second division.

However, in the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nord, Damar impressed for the 96ers' second team, scoring nine goals and providing three assists in eight appearances, and celebrated the championship title at the end of the season.

Move to Wolfsburg

At that time, Marcus Mann was still sporting director at Hannover. Today, the German works for FC Red Bull Salzburg and reportedly had Damar on his radar again this summer.

According to reports from "BILD", Mann wanted to lure the 22-year-old to Salzburg.

However, Damar left TSG Hoffenheim and made a permanent move for 5.5 million euros to Bundesliga relegated club VfL Wolfsburg.

The Berlin native played a total of 21 Bundesliga matches for TSG. In the 2024/25 season, he was on loan at SV Elversberg. For the second-division club, he delivered nine goals and six assists.
