Official: Former Rapid striker heads to Germany
Stefan Schwab's former club announces the signing of the Georgian.
From 2016 to 2018, Giorgi Kvilitaia was on the hunt for goals for SK Rapid. Following his time in Hütteldorf, he played for no fewer than five clubs, most recently FC Metz.
His career will now be extended by another stop. The 32-year-old Georgian joins German second-division club Holstein Kiel. Kiel will not have to pay a transfer fee as his contract has expired. He signs until 2027.
However, there will be no reunion with his former teammate Stefan Schwab, as the 35-year-old returned to Austria in this transfer window.
The Georgian international had only moved to FC Metz in winter, but even he could not prevent the club's relegation to Ligue 2. He scored twice in ten competitive matches for the club.
