Bundesliga thanks to Senft? KSC Boss talks big
The club president speaks of a "new level" that will be reached thanks to Senft and his team.
Christian Eichner spent over six years on the coaching bench of Karlsruher SC. In the past season, the club finished tenth under his leadership; in 2023/24, he achieved his best result with fifth place.
Maximilian Senft, from Vienna, now succeeds Christian Eichner, the brother-in-law of Salzburg boss Marcus Mann. The coach, poached from SV Ried, is expected to achieve great success.
President Holger Siegmund-Schultze made big claims in an address to fans at the stadium.
"We will play in the Bundesliga!"
"In the upcoming season, we are opening a new chapter in sports. We are confident that with our new head coach Maximilian Senft and his new coaching team, we will reach a new level in the sport," he clarified, indirectly demanding an improvement over Eichner.
But he didn't stop there. "I personally am even confident that we will play in the Bundesliga at the end of this chapter," he said, addressing a potential promotion.
The expectations for Senft are accordingly high. The 36-year-old has the opportunity to prove himself internationally. He definitely has promotions under his belt: in 2025, he led SV Ried back to the ADMIRAL Bundesliga after two years in the second division.
