The Austrian apparently has no future in Zurich. He wasn't even registered for the league.

Maximilian Ullmann (29) moved to Grasshoppers Zurich in November 2025, when Gerald Scheiblehner, from Linz, coached the club.

However, the Upper Austrian apparently has no future under ex-Salzburg coach Peter Zeidler. Ullmann was not in the squad for the first two league games and was not even registered on the quota list for the league. Ullmann apparently has to look for a new club.

Clear Defeat Against Lugano

In addition to the ex-Rapid player, defenders Ismajl Beka and Allan Arigoni were also dropped. The latter has since been re-registered, at least.

After a 1-1 draw in the opener against Lausanne, the home game against FC Lugano proved sobering, ending in a 1-4 defeat despite a good first half (1-0 for Zurich).

"There's no net between us like in volleyball! In the first half, they weren't so good because we were good. We are not a laughing stock; we are a team in development," Zeidler told "nau.ch", not seeing everything negatively.

Last season, the club only avoided relegation in the play-offs.
