On matchday 11 of the German 2. Bundesliga, Karlsruher SC and head coach Maximilian Senft suffered a bitter defeat. The Viennese coach's side fell to a 3-2 away loss against VfL Bochum.

Bochum took an early lead through Christian Rasmussen (6'), but KSC turned the game around through Kevin Wiethaup (8') and Tim Civeja (50').

However, Philipp Hofmann quickly equalized (53'). Just when everything pointed to a draw, Hofmann struck again in stoppage time to secure victory for Bochum, where Michael Steinwender played the full 90 minutes.

Christoph Kobald, who played the whole match for KSC, and Maximilian Senft drop into the relegation play-off spot with their team as a result. With eleven points, however, they are level on points with 12th-placed Cottbus.

Heavy defeat for St. Pauli, draw for Hannover

FC St. Pauli also suffered a bitter loss. The Hamburg side, featuring captain David Nemeth, fell to a 4-1 defeat at 1. FC Magdeburg. Former Salzburg forward Roko Simic was among the goalscorers for Magdeburg.

Meanwhile, 1. FC Heidenheim and Hannover 96 shared the points. The two teams played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
