"New Territory" Traditional Club? Xaver Schlager Reacts
Xaver Schlager now plays for one of England's most historic clubs. Previously, the opposite was more often the case. Here's how he feels about that 'first':

Xaver Schlager's professional career to date makes one thing undeniable: The Austria international (28) has not yet played for a classic traditional club.
Since this summer, however, that has changed. The Upper Austrian-born player is now under contract with Nottingham Forest, the club of Austrian head coach Oliver Glasner.
The club, founded in 1865, is one of the oldest in the world, plays its home games at the historic City Ground, and in its history, crowned itself twice as winner of the European Cup.
"It's good for a change, I'd say"
In an interview with Canal+ journalist Johannes Hofer, the midfielder speaks about this difference compared to his previous clubs.
"Yes, that's true. I don't mind anyone who wants to joke about it now. But for me, it has always been about making sure I play my best football."
The sporting aspect has always been a priority for the 55-time senior international. "Ultimately, we can't choose how long a club's history is. It's about achieving the best possible."
However, he likes that it "worked out" "with a traditional club" "for once": "It's good for a change, I'd say," Schlager chuckles.
