Elversberg remains persistent! Second appeal against coach's ban

FC Elversberg isn't giving up!

After the rejection of their first appeal, the team of the hour in the German Bundesliga has once again appealed against the ban on head coach Vincent Wagner.

Why is Wagner banned in the first place? During the 4-3 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach, the 40-year-old entered the pitch following an incorrect throw-in decision, which the referee later admitted. For this, he received a yellow card.

Wagner received the second yellow card because he reportedly approached the referee again during halftime. With a yellow-red card, the promotion coach had to go to the stands.

Thus, Wagner would also miss the clash with champions Bayern Munich on Sunday (from 5:30 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>) or rather, not be allowed on the sidelines. Elversberg wants to avoid this at all costs.

"I really didn't do anything. I didn't complain. I want to make that clear. I didn't run, nor did I wave," Wagner himself stated about the incident.

Elversberg had already filed a first appeal against the ban, but it was rejected by the DFB Sports Court due to a lack of "indications of an obvious error by the referee."

Now, the promoted side has filed another appeal, leading to a decision at an oral hearing on Friday.
