LASK star raves about national team debut: "Great feeling"

With his debut for the Nigerian national team, Moses Usor reached the next milestone in his career and immediately became the match-winner.

In an interview with the press officer of the "Super Eagles", the 24-year-old attacker recounted how the debut felt for him. According to his own statement, Moses Simon, who came into the game with Usor in the 61st minute, played a decisive role in the LASK attacker's confident performance.

"I warmed up with Moses Simon, and when they called me, he told me: 'Just play your game and be yourself. If you have the ball and want to go one-on-one, take the risk'," he quoted his teammate to "The Guardian".

The goal came about exactly in this way: Usor sprinted forward, dribbled past two defenders in the penalty area, and confidently slotted the ball in.

Usor: "I've dreamed of this for a long time"

He imparted "this way of playing to me, and I simply adopted this mentality of taking risks, because that's exactly what football is all about. So I went in with that attitude and played my game," said the 24-year-old.

The fact that his family was cheering him on from the stands was the culmination of a perfect evening. "It was a very special feeling because my family was there too. I was overjoyed to see everyone here. I've dreamed of this for a long time: to play with the people I've always wanted to play with and to be on the same team with them."

He particularly highlighted three teammates: "It's a completely different feeling to play with (Note Ademola) Lookman, Ola (Aina) and (Calvin) Bassey. It's just a great feeling."

His next goal is now to establish himself in the Nigerian national team. "I want to give my best in every game and strengthen the offense. I know that Nigerians expect a lot from me. I have to give my best," says the LASK attacker.

On Tuesday, Usor will have the next immediate opportunity against Guinea-Bissau to promote himself.
