Man City Violations: Mancini Reports on Double Contract
The former "Citizens" coach openly admits to also having been part of a suspicious contract structure.
Roberto Mancini led Manchester City to their first league title in 44 years in 2012, thereby initiating the successful era of the last 15 years.
While the club is currently embroiled in a financial scandal, the Italian is once again coaching his country's national team.
In this context, he was now asked about the events surrounding the "Skyblues" – and almost casually revealed that he also held a dubious contract structure.
In addition to his direct employment contract with Manchester City for around two million euros, he was simultaneously engaged as a consultant for a club in Abu Dhabi. Despite a workload of just a few days a year, he received the same amount on top of that.
"It's not an issue that concerns me. It's not my problem. But probably theirs," the 61-year-old shrugged. Despite everything, he still considers his former employer innocent.
