Schicker backs Ilzer: "Our approach is correct"
TSG Hoffenheim has had a poor start to the German Bundesliga season. However, they remain clearly convinced of their approach.
After a strong past season and qualification for the UEFA Europa League, TSG Hoffenheim is underperforming in the still young season.
In the first four league matches, former Sturm coach Christian Ilzer's team suffered three defeats. Their only full success came against VfB Stuttgart. In the Europa League, the Sturm opponent also lost their opening match against Ofi Creta 0:2.

However, this is certainly no reason for panic yet. Sporting Director Andreas Schicker backed his long-time associate in an interview with "Bild".
"Football is emotional, but at the same time, you shouldn't let a bad week derail your direction. We all feel that our approach is the right one. The coach, the lads, and I all see eye to eye on that," said the Austrian.
The long international break should now bring about a reversal of the trend. For this, previous performances were also analyzed: "We have, of course, thoroughly reviewed the last two matches. Our approach is correct, I am one hundred percent convinced of that."
Clash with Sturm at the end of November
After the international break, TSG will continue their league campaign with a home match against Hamburger SV.
On November 26, the UEFA Europa League will see a big reunion with SK Sturm Graz in Sinsheim.
