Layoff Looms: Horvath Apparently Injured in ÖFB Training
Sascha Horvath likely sustained a thigh injury. Meanwhile, Konrad Laimer returns to team training.
Sascha Horvath could miss the upcoming Nations League match against Ireland (on Thursday from 8:45 PM in the LIVE ticker>>>) due to a muscle injury.
The LASK captain felt pain in his thigh area during training and had to stop prematurely.
The exact extent of the injury was initially unclear. 14 players took part in Monday's session. Michael Gregoritsch and Phillipp Mwene, who are carrying knocks, still trained separately from the team but are expected to be available for the upcoming matches.
Christian Zawieschitzky and Vasilije Markovic, however, have already left the senior national team.
The two teenagers, who celebrated their senior national team debut on Sunday in the 3-1 win against Kosovo at Vienna's Happel Stadium, will now reinforce the U21 squad for the decisive European Championship qualifiers.
Laimer Returns to Training
Konrad Laimer trained with Austria's national football team for the first time in this training camp on Monday at the ÖFB Campus in Vienna.
After recovering from a muscle fiber tear in his adductor area, the Bayern professional completed his first team training session in a week and a half and is ready for the upcoming Nations League matches on Thursday in Dublin against Ireland and on Sunday in Prishtina against Kosovo.
