But it also worked well with the ball, as Adamu was able to celebrate his first goal in his tenth international match. "I still have goosebumps. This is something very special for me," he beams.
A dream goal
It was a spectacular goal. Xaver Schlager started the counter-attack in his own penalty area, dribbled past several opponents, perfectly set up Patrick Wimmer with a through ball, who unselfishly laid it off to Adamu.
"A super tempo dribble, played at the right moment. And then staying cool with the square pass. You can't play out that counter-attack much better," beams head coach Ralf Rangnick.

Adamu laughs: "Wimmer has an eye for me. I owe him one for the pass."
The "Griddy"

"I promised many people that I would pull out the 'Griddy' for my first goal for Austria. It worked," grins Adamu.
"I want to show the coach..."
It is clear to see how important this game, this performance, was for the attacker.
"That's important for my self-confidence. I want to show the coach that I'm important for the team. It's very important to perform in such games. I will continue to give my all. I hope for more starts," he says.
Rangnick, in any case, had praise: "Junior was extremely committed, extremely involved, and was then rewarded with the goal."
