After Germany's Defeat: Former Salzburg Player Under Fire

Karim Adeyemi was once again in the starting lineup for the DFB team, but the offensive player from FC Barcelona failed to score yet again. While Jürgen Klopp stated the team "didn't do much wrong," former German international Mario Basler saw things completely differently.
Basler: "...then he loses his nerve"
Karim Adeyemi, in particular, came under heavy criticism. "With Adeyemi, it's always the same. He plays one decent game and five worse ones. There are reasons why he left Borussia Dortmund," said the 1996 European Champion in his podcast "Basler ballert."
He plays "one good game, maybe two in a row, then he loses his nerve. Yesterday again. These are things you don't need," said the 57-year-old.
Basler does not see Adeyemi, who played for FC Red Bull Salzburg between 2019 and 2022, as a stable pillar for the future. "That's neither here nor there," said the former Bayern professional.
The performances of some other players also raised questions for the former midfielder: "I don't know, maybe some players are just a bit too young or whatever. But to be so scared?"
The final two Nations League matches will be played by the second string of Jürgen Klopp's XXL squad. Thus, Karim Adeyemi no longer has a chance in this training camp to convince Mario Basler of his qualities.
