Since Debut: Ex-Salzburg Player is Best German CL Goal Scorer
The forward debuted for Salzburg in the Champions League in 2020 and scored his 17th CL goal for Barcelona on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Karim Adeyemi scored his first Champions League goal for FC Barcelona in the 5-1 victory against Feyenoord.
It was also his 17th goal in the Champions League, making the 24-year-old forward the most successful German goal scorer in the Champions League since his CL debut. This was reported by "kicker".
Kai Havertz and Leroy Sane follow Adeyemi with 15 goals each. After them are Thomas Müller (eleven goals), and Serge Gnabry and Jamal Musiala (nine each).
Is Adeyemi Back in National Team Contention?
Adeyemi made his Champions League debut in 2020 for FC Salzburg. For the "Bulls", the German scored four Champions League goals. At Borussia Dortmund, he scored twelve times.
The left-footed player has already registered three goal contributions in five games since his summer move from BVB to the Catalans.
This might make him an option again for DFB national team coach Jürgen Klopp. Adeyemi was not part of the World Cup squad. In the upcoming international break, Germany will face the Netherlands, Greece (twice), and Serbia in the Nations League.
