ÖFB player Matteo Maric scores in Youth League debut for Bayern

FC Bayern Munich's U19 team kicks off the new UEFA Youth League season with a clear home victory. The Munich side won their opening match against Bodö/Glimt 6-1.

ÖFB midfielder Matteo Maric, who moved from the Red Bull Academy to FC Bayern this year, provided the assist for the final goal of the game by Bastian Assomo (90'+1). 16-year-old Maric was substituted on in the 66th minute on Thursday, marking his Youth League debut.

For 18-year-old Michael Matosevic, who came into the game in the 80th minute, it was his third appearance in the prestigious youth competition. The Austrian also plays in midfield and moved from SV Ried to Munich in the summer of 2024.

ÖFB Duo Already Gained Regionalliga Minutes

In the U19 youth league, Matosevic captains Bayern on the field. In the Regionalliga Bayern, he has made two appearances for the second team so far.

Maric played for the U17 team last weekend, scoring a goal against Ingolstadt. Prior to that, he had already bagged a brace in the U19 youth league and made a brief appearance in the Regionalliga.
