Move to Belgium! Promotion hero leaves Austria Lustenau
The 23-year-old was one of the best during the promotion season. This also caught the eye of a Belgian top-flight club:
Austria Lustenau must do without midfield gem Mame Wade in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga!
The club announced this on Thursday. The 23-year-old Senegalese leaves Austria with immediate effect and joins Belgian top-flight club RAAL La Louvière. Silence was agreed upon regarding the transfer fee details.
Wade was signed by Lustenau in summer 2025, having previously played for FC Wacker Innsbruck. Wade – who had previously struggled with injuries – quickly developed into a key player in Lustenau, scoring seven goals and providing five assists last season.
"Appropriate Solution for All Parties"
"I would like to thank SC Austria Lustenau for the trust placed in me and all the people around the club. From day one, I felt incredibly comfortable here and was warmly welcomed by the team, coaching staff, employees, and fans. Celebrating the championship title and promotion to the Bundesliga together is something I will never forget. Now I am looking forward to the new challenge in Belgium, but I will always cherish my time in Lustenau. I wish Austria a lot of success for the upcoming season and the future," Mame Wade is quoted as saying.
Sporting Director Dieter Alge says: "Wade is leaving our club to take the next step in his sporting career. Of course, we would have liked to see him in the Austria jersey in the Bundesliga as well. At the same time, we were able to agree on an appropriate solution for all parties with RAAL La Louvière. We are very grateful to Wade for his contribution last season and wish him all the best, both professionally and personally, on his future path."
