New signing for GAK!

The Styrians have secured the services of Cican Stankovic. The Bundesliga club officially announced this on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old goalkeeper had been without a club since his contract expired in Athens in the summer of 2025 and therefore joins Graz on a free transfer.

Return to Austria

"I am very glad that it worked out. In the end, everything happened relatively quickly, and now I am really looking forward to the new season. GAK is a big name in Austrian football, and I want to do my part to help us achieve our goals as a team," Stankovic is quoted as saying in the press release.

At the "Rotjacken," the veteran will succeed Franz Stolz, whose loan spell from Genoa has expired, as the number one.

In Austria, the keeper also played for FC Red Bull Salzburg for six years, before moving to AEK Athens in Greece in 2021.

Great Successes in Salzburg

With the "Bullen," he became champion six times and cup winner five times.

"There isn't much to say about Cican's CV; it is well-known and outstanding. From the beginning, it was clear in our discussions that he is really eager for a new challenge and wants to prove himself to everyone once again," said Sporting Director Tino Wawra.

In the last year, he is said to have kept fit with an individual trainer: "He is in absolutely fit condition. What he currently lacks is match practice, but I think for a player of his calibre, that will quickly return. We are pleased that Cican is joining GAK."
