Murat Satin returns to Tirol.

The Innsbruck native moves from GAK to WSG Tirol on a free transfer. His expiring contract with the Graz side was not extended for the new season.

WSG banks on players with Tyrolean roots

"With Murat Satin, we are bringing a native Tyrolean with extensive Bundesliga experience and great versatility in midfield back to his home region. He knows the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, has developed further at GAK recently, and brings precisely the goal threat and footballing intelligence we need for our attacking play," says WSG Manager Stefan Köck.

According to Köck, his Tyrolean roots were also a decisive factor in the signing: "For us, in addition to his sporting quality, it was also important to sign a player in Murat who has his roots in Tirol and identifies with the club accordingly."

"Absolute dream to play here in the Bundesliga"

The 29-year-old is delighted to return to his home state: "I was born and raised here, which is why it's an absolute dream for me to play here in the Bundesliga."

However, he doesn't want to stop there: "I want to perform, celebrate success with the team, and I am convinced that WSG is the optimal next step for me."

Early move to Turkey

Satin, who played for Wacker and AKA Tirol, among others, in his youth, moved to Turkey at just 18 years old and returned to Innsbruck after three years on the Bosporus.

After further stints at SV Ried, Vorwärts Steyr, and Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz, the midfielder finally joined GAK in 2024, with whom he immediately achieved promotion to the Bundesliga.

Back to Tirol with 110 Bundesliga appearances under his belt

Last season, the veteran featured in 28 Bundesliga matches for the "Rotjacken", though mostly coming on for short appearances in the final phase of the season.

In total, Satin now returns to Tirol with 110 appearances in Austria's top league and 83 appearances in the 2. Liga.
