GAK's bid for Franz Stolz rejected
A permanent signing of Mathias Olesen will also not materialize.
Two pieces of bad news for GAK!
Franz Stolz and Mathias Olesen, both loanees last season, will not make permanent moves to Graz.
"Everything was agreed with Genua, as was the case with Franz Stolz. On the day of finalization, the Italians suddenly pulled out," GAK Sporting Director Tino Wawra is quoted by "Krone" as saying. This behavior was "quite irritating" for him.
"Coach put his foot down"
What exactly happened? "The coach ultimately put his foot down and said that Franz must complete pre-season training in Italy." This means a permanent signing of the 25-year-old keeper is currently not feasible.
The situation with Olesen doesn't look much better, as Wawra explains. "This transfer is difficult to implement. Less because of parent club Fürth, with whom we would have found a solution."
The "player package" - meaning Olesen's salary expectations - is currently too expensive and "unaffordable for us."
