Haris Tabakovic, a Bosnian striker, is currently impressing across the board at FC Red Bull Salzburg. Now, the "Bulls" reportedly have a future national team colleague of Tabakovic on their radar.

As reported by the Bosnian sports portal "SportSport", Salzburg is showing interest in Matej Deket from Borac Banja Luka.

According to the report, the "Bulls" are preparing an offer for the 17-year-old striker. Salzburg is said to be willing to pay 1.5 million Euros for Deket. This would also include bonuses and a sell-on clause.

However, Salzburg is reportedly not the only club showing interest. The 17-year-old has been linked with Red Star Belgrade in the past.

Youngest goal scorer in the Bosnian first league

Deket is considered a great talent in Bosnia. The attacker was born in Banja Luka and has played for Borac there since his youth.

The youngster already debuted in the Bosnian first league in October 2025. Since February 2026, he has been the youngest goal scorer in the history of the Bosnian league.

This year, he became champion with Borac Banja Luka and recently scored in the UEFA Conference League against KuPS.

Call-up to the senior team

The latest highlight is his call-up to the Bosnian senior national team, where he is by far the youngest player.

"As I made my way to school this morning, I had no idea that a message awaited me that would make this day special and unforgettable: a call-up by coach Sergej Barbarez to the A-national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina! This is a great honor, a source of pride, and a motivation for everything that still lies ahead of me," Deket wrote on Instagram.

Bosnia will face Sweden and Romania in the UEFA Nations League in November. Besides Tabakovic and Deket, former Salzburg players Kerim Alajbegovic, Amar Dedic, and Salko Hamzic are also in coach Barbarez's squad.
