LASK return? Sasa Kalajdzic leaves the back door open

Austrian international striker Sasa Kalajdzic is currently looking for a new club.

The 2-meter-tall player is surplus to requirements at Wolverhampton Wanderers. A transfer therefore seems to be only a matter of time.

LASK Return Currently Not an Issue

A return to LASK, with whom he became Austrian champion and cup winner as a loanee last season, is not an issue at this point in time.

The 29-year-old attacker was present at the Upper Austria derby against SV Ried on Friday and was bid farewell by his former club there.

"I have taken LASK to my heart; they hold immense importance for me," Kalajdzic explained to "Sky" on Friday.

Kalajdzic Keeps Option Open

LASK coach Didi Kühbauer recently stated that he would "carry Kalajdzic through Linz if he comes back to us".

Is a return to Linz even possible this summer? Under certain circumstances. It's not planned, but Kalajdzic doesn't want to completely close the door either.

"Basically, you never know in life – that's why I never close a door. I am still in contact with Dino (Editor's note: Buric, LASK Sports Director) and everyone, but generally, the idea is not to stay in Linz," Kalajdzic clarifies in an interview with "Sky".

"Don't Want to Create False Hopes"

"I don't want to create false hopes, but I also don't want to say I'm not coming and then I do – you never know in life," says the Austrian international striker.

He maintains "open and honest" communication with LASK officials, according to Kalajdzic. LASK knows "what ambition and aspirations I still have – and that is to return to those spheres, those leagues, where I belong."
