It was an Upper Austrian derby to the delight of the Linzers. Despite an early deficit, LASK clearly prevailed against SV Ried with a 4-1 victory (read more >>>).
However, there was also a downside: Sascha Horvath was substituted at half-time due to injury, while two-goal scorer Samuel Adeniran indicated shortly after the break that he could not continue. In the final phase, Kasper Jörgensen also left the field after a knock to the knee. Is the trio even at risk of missing the crucial Champions League qualifying playoff?
Sascha Horvath was able to relieve LASK fans of this concern immediately after the match. In an interview with LAOLA1, when asked about his substitution, he stated: "I had a few problems today, but it's nothing serious."
Motto: "Good Regeneration"
The 29-year-old also indicated that his teammates had not sustained any major injuries. "We had a few players today with some minor ailments. Now it's about regenerating well. We still have time until the next game, so: Tomorrow, take it easy, the day after tomorrow too, and then it's about training well so that we are fit," said the midfield engine.
Coach Dietmar Kühbauer also sent positive signals regarding their availability for next Wednesday. "I think it will work out for both (Note: Horvath and Adeniran). But now comes the Celtic game, and for that, you need absolutely fit players," stated the successful Linz coach, who, above all, still wishes for a new addition in attack. Until Tuesday, August 18, LASK could still register up to two more players for the squad.
