Sangaré replacement: Is RC Lens signing from Austria?
France's vice-champions enjoy signing players from the ADMIRAL Bundesliga – now they seem to have set their sights on Melayro Bogarde.
French vice-champions RC Lens have recently had good experiences with signings from the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.
Two transfers from last summer were a complete success: Samson Baidoo (Salzburg) quickly developed into one of the best central defenders in Ligue 1, and Mamadou Sangaré (Rapid) also more than met expectations.
So much so that he is now on the verge of a transfer to the Premier League. FC Brentford is reportedly ready to transfer 48 million Euros to Lens.

Lens targets Bogarde
It is therefore not surprising that RC Lens is once again looking to Austria in search of a potential Sangaré replacement.
According to French journalist Sébastien Denis, the club's focus this time is on champions LASK. Lens is reportedly showing serious interest in signing Melayro Bogarde.
Two more years on contract
The defensive midfielder moved from Hoffenheim to Linz on a free transfer in 2024 and became a double winner with LASK last season. In 28 Bundesliga appearances, Bogarde, who can be used defensively in various positions, scored one goal and provided five assists.
The Suriname international still has a contract with LASK until 2028. His current market value is estimated at four million Euros, according to "Transfermarkt".
