GAK to be without defensive player for weeks
The FC Red Bull Salzburg loanee was injured in the first round of the ÖFB Cup. A midfielder is also unavailable for now.
GAK will have to do without right-back Tim Trummer in the coming weeks.
The 20-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup against SV Seekirchen (match report here>>>) and had to be substituted due to injury in the first half.
Subsequent examinations confirmed the initial fears: The defensive player, on loan from Red Bull Salzburg, sustained a muscle injury to his hamstring and will be out for several weeks for GAK.
Koch also out
Midfielder Tobias Koch is also sidelined for now. The 25-year-old was already not part of the squad for the Cup opener and is currently struggling with muscular problems.
According to GAK, he is already undergoing treatment with the club's medical department.
However, his return is expected to be significantly sooner than Trummer's. Nevertheless, an appearance for the Bundesliga opener on Friday against LASK (live from 7:30 PM in the LIVE ticker>>>) is likely still too soon.
