SK Rapid is currently preparing for the new season in Freistadt, Upper Austria.

While the players sweat on the pitch, sporting director Markus Katzer is pushing ahead with squad planning. This also includes dealing with departures.

10-Million-Euro Transfer?

Midfielder Romeo Amane (23) is said to be one of Rapid's most coveted players. "The interest is such that we could soon receive a proper offer," Katzer told the "Kronen Zeitung". An offer could come from England, France, or Italy.

Specifically, RC Lens is reportedly among the interested parties. Former Hütteldorf player Mamadou Sangare is currently under contract there. The Malian is reportedly being courted by Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

Should Sangare depart, the French club could sign Amane as a replacement. Amane could bring Rapid a similarly high transfer fee as Isak Jansson did with his move to Nice. A reported ten million euros was paid for the Swede last year.

Rapid also profits from Sangare transfer

At the same time, Rapid is also set to profit from a Sangare transfer. According to "Krone", the Green-Whites will receive ten to 15 percent of the difference between the sale price and the purchase price.

In numbers: Sangare reportedly moved to France for eight million euros. If Lens sells the midfielder for 40 million euros, Rapid will receive ten to 15 percent of the 32 million euros.

These are sums that the Hütteldorf club is somewhat dependent on after the negative financial year 2025/26. At the same time, Katzer emphasizes: "A transfer surplus would be pleasing. But we will not sell anyone if the offer is not right."
