Head coach Markus Hackl's team had to admit defeat to Germany in the semi-final, losing 0-1 after extra time.
Nevertheless, their performances in Bosnia were historic: a women's youth team had never before reached a semi-final.
Germany with Best Chance Before the Break
In the clash of the favorite neighbors, neither team could initially create serious goal threats, with the game primarily taking place in midfield. The red-white-red defense stood compactly, leaving possession to Germany.

Crossbar Saves Austria

Golden Goal After a Corner
The game went into extra time goalless, where Memminger shot the ball over the goal from a good position (104').
Shortly after, it finally happened: Following a corner kick, Tessa Zimmermann was left criminally unmarked at the far post, and the DFB striker effortlessly headed the ball into the near corner (109').
There wasn't enough strength left for a big final offensive, and Austria failed to make it to the final. Germany will face Spain in the final on Friday, after Spain managed to beat Sweden 3-0.
