Wacker Innsbruck is making important decisions for the future!

As announced by the ADMIRAL 2. Liga club, contracts with Christopher Weinzierl and Mouhamed Sy have been extended long-term. Additionally, loan player Anderson Rodriguez from Grasshoppers has now been permanently signed.

Captain Rami Tekir's contract extension until 2028 has also already been finalized >>>

Contract Extensions

According to the club, Weinzierl and Sy have both extended "long-term," but an exact duration was not specified. Weinzierl comes from the youth academy and joined Wacker via the Akademie Tirol.

The 18-year-old winger has started on the left wing in all five league matches, scoring one goal. "Christopher perfectly embodies the path we want to take at Wacker. A young Tyrolean player with a lot of quality, great development potential, and a strong identification with the club," says Sporting Director Jakob Griesebner.

Sy is also a regular in the current LigaZwa season, featuring in midfield in all five league matches. The 22-year-old Senegalese also scored two goals. Sy arrived in Innsbruck from Gambia in 2024.

"Mouhamed has developed strongly in recent years and has become an important part of our team. He brings immense qualities and still has further potential," praises the Sporting Director of the midfielder.

Rodriguez Stays Permanently

Former loan player Rodriguez arrived in Innsbruck at the beginning of 2026 and remains a permanent fixture in the squad even after promotion. The 19-year-old Uruguayan attacker has primarily been used as a substitute this season and scored one goal in the cup.

"Anderson has shown his potential in recent months. He is young, has room for development, and brings a very exciting profile. We are convinced that his development is far from complete and we are pleased that he is continuing his journey with Wacker," said Griesebner.

The season start has certainly been successful for the promoted side. With three wins from the first five games, they currently sit in a good sixth place.
